Help, and how to reach a person

Support.

One address, answered by a person. Below it, the things people ask most — including how to delete your account, and how to get a copy of your data.

Getting in touch

Write to us

support@sidelinecall.com

We aim to reply within two working days, and within five at the very worst during a championship weekend. There is no phone line and no chat window — one address, read by a person.

It helps enormously if you include: the email address on your account, whether you are on the website, iPhone or Android, and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot is worth three paragraphs.

Emails from us come from app@sidelinecall.com. We will never ask you for your password, and no email from us will ever contain a link asking you to confirm one.

Accounts and signing in

I have forgotten my password

On the sign-in screen, choose Forgotten your password? and we will email you a reset link. It expires, so use it when it arrives. If it does not turn up within a few minutes, check the spam folder — and check that the address you typed is the one on the account.

I signed in with Apple, Google or Facebook and there is no password option

That is expected. Your sign-in is held by them, not by us, so there is no password on our side to change. Keep using the same button you signed up with. If you signed up with Apple and chose Hide My Email, our emails go to Apple's relay address and on to your real one.

I want to change my email address

In the game, go to Settings and choose Change email. We send a confirmation link to the new address, and a notice to the old one so that a change you did not make cannot happen quietly. That notice deliberately contains no links.

I think somebody else is in my account

Change your password immediately, then write to support@sidelinecall.com from the address on the account. If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook, secure that account with them first.

Can I have two accounts?

Please do not. One person, one account — see the terms. Multiple accounts on one leaderboard is the one form of cheating this game has.

Emails and reminders

We send eight kinds of email and no others: verify your address, reset your password, confirm a change of address, warn about a change of address, welcome you, pass on an invitation, remind you about a matchweek deadline, and send you the weekend's results once they are settled. There is no newsletter, and no advertising.

Stopping the reminders

Every reminder and welcome email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that works in one click, without signing in. You can also switch reminders and invitations off separately in Settings.

Verification, password reset and change-of-address emails cannot be switched off. They are how an account stays yours.

I am not getting any emails

Check the spam folder first, then check the address on your account. If a message to you has bounced, or was reported as spam, we stop sending to that address on purpose — write to us from another address and we will sort it out.

Somebody invited me and I did not want it

Unsubscribe from the link in the email and we will not send to you again. If invitations keep coming, tell us at support@sidelinecall.com and we will act on the account sending them. There are limits on how many invitations one account can send and how many one address can receive in a day; if somebody is working around them, we want to know.

Deleting your account and your data

The short answer

In the game: Settings → Delete my account. It takes effect immediately. If you cannot sign in, email support@sidelinecall.com from the address on the account and we will do it for you within 30 days.

On the website

  1. Sign in at sidelinecall.com/play.
  2. Open Settings from the header.
  3. Scroll to Delete your account and choose Delete my account.
  4. Confirm. That is the point of no return.

On iPhone or Android

The same path, in the same place: Settings → Delete my account. Deleting from the phone deletes the account itself, so the web version goes with it. Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account.

What is deleted

The sign-in itself, your profile — name, county, codes, preferences — every saved season from every device, every prediction, every score, and the reminder record. All of it, in one operation, with no copy kept and no undo.

What takes a little longer

A leaderboard holds a copy of your name, county and points so it can be read in one go. That row is rebuilt from the underlying scores, which are gone, so it disappears at the next rebuild — hours, not days.

What is kept, and why

Records of emails we sent you are kept for up to 12 months so we can answer whether a message actually went out. If your address ever bounced or was reported as spam, it stays on a suppression list — forgetting that is how a deleted account starts receiving email again. Both are explained in the privacy notice.

A copy of your data first

Ask at support@sidelinecall.com before you delete, and we will send you everything we hold, in a format you can take elsewhere, within one month. Once the account is deleted there is nothing left to copy.

Playing as a guest

A guest season never reaches us — it lives in your browser. Start over in Settings clears it, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser.

Playing

How are points worked out?

In the game: Settings → How points are scored. The short version: you get points for calling a result, more for getting close to the scoreline, and most for calling it exactly. The banker doubles one call in each competition's round, so a busy weekend can carry more than one. A Survivor pool takes one county a round: they have to win, so a draw puts you out the same as a beating.

My prediction did not save

Predictions close at throw-in. A call made after that does not count, and one you did not save before then is not a call. If you saved it and it is not there, tell us — with the match and roughly when you saved it.

An invite code will not work

Codes ignore spaces and capitals, so that is not it. A pool that has already started cannot be joined — that is deliberate, so nobody joins a Survivor pool once the risky counties are gone. Otherwise check the code with whoever sent it.

Are the fixtures real?

Yes. Fixtures and results are entered by hand from the official announcements and scored on the server — the footer of the game says so on every screen. If you open the game from a saved file or with no connection at all, it falls back to sample data and the footer says that instead.

Is this gambling?

No. There is no entry fee, no stake and no prize of any value, and there is no way to put money in. See the terms.

Something looks wrong

A result or a score is wrong

Tell us: the competition, the round, the match, what the game shows and what it should show. Results are entered by hand and can be corrected — and when one is corrected, everything derived from it is recalculated, so a leaderboard can move afterwards.

A bug

Send: what you did, what you expected, what happened, and where — browser and version, or phone and OS version. If it happens every time, say so; a bug that reproduces is one that gets fixed.

Something is down

Try again in a few minutes first. If it persists, write to us — there is no status page yet, so an email is how we find out.

Abuse, names and safety

If somebody is using a display name that is abusive, obscene, hateful, or is impersonating someone, report it to support@sidelinecall.com with the name and where you saw it. We can reset a name, suspend an account or close it.

If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will remove it and the data with it.

If somebody is at immediate risk, contact the Gardaí or the police rather than us. We are a game and cannot help quickly enough.

Accessibility

If something in the game or on this site is unusable with a screen reader, a keyboard, voice control or magnification, we want to know. The accessibility statement sets out what is built in, what is measured, and what is still wrong — including problems we already know about.

Report a barrier to support@sidelinecall.com with “Accessibility” in the subject line. We aim to reply within five working days.
